Harri is integral in the planning and execution of volunteering days for the EE site in Plymouth. Currently, our main 3 Volunteer Partners are Dartmoor Zoo, St Luke’s Hospice and The Breakthrough Transformation Trust. In 2017, Harri was instrumental in over 6,000 hours of volunteering being used by employees of the EE Contact Centre in Plymouth. Harri liaises with local charities to see if they have volunteering days available and then promotes these days to teams who then book the day as Volunteering. EE will pay the team to go and work for the Charity (of their choice) for the day enabling the charity to get jobs done that they otherwise couldn't due to manpower or lack of funds. EE Plymouth has been number 1 in the company out of 8 sites (for 3 years running) thanks to Harri's efforts. The teams have built sensory gardens for BTT, helped maintain Dartmoor Zoo with landscaping jobs and other things that the Zoo doesn't have the manpower to complete and helped St Luke’s Hospice sort and grade donations that they otherwise wouldn't be able to do because of lack of volunteers and staff. This isn't just a benefit to the charity, the team who visits also get to spend the day helping a worthwhile cause, strengthening relations and improving morale through helping others. Harri has been instrumental in the planning of volunteer days. Harri lives and breathes the EE mantra of "Personal, Simple and Brilliant" by engaging ALL teams to help them with the planning and execution of their volunteer days. Harri leads from the front and never proposes volunteer days that he himself wouldn't take part in. Harri also understands that certain charities aren't for everyone so gives teams the option to support people, animals and even schools or charity shops. Without Harri, EE Plymouth wouldn't be number 1 in terms of volunteering hours use. St Luke’s Hospice, Dartmoor Zoo and The Breakthrough Transformation Trust all praise Harri as a hardworking guy who makes time for everyone. He is admired by his peers and is always willing to put other people’s needs before his own in an effort to support the local community and to make a big of an impact as possible.
