specifically for those looking after a family member or friend through the
Coronavirus crisis. The advice has been developed with input from Carers Trust and
Carers UK. Click

If you are concerned about what Coronavirus might mean for you, or
someone you care for, we recommend you visit the Carers UK website. Carers UK have put together
really useful information on Coronavirus, testing and receiving the vaccine.
The information is being updated on a regular basis.
We are working closely with Plymouth City Council and our Board of
Trustees and Senior Management Team to manage the risks to the smooth running
of the services and activities we deliver related to the outbreak of
Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We understand this is a worrying time for everyone and we would like to
reassure you that we are continuing to support carers. However, some of our
services may look a little different as our staff will be working
remotely.
We continue to be available on the telephone during the usual hours
of
9am - 5pm Monday-Friday and team members will be on
hand to talk to you during these hours.
We are not able to offer medical advice, if your query is concerning a
medical matter, please follow the NHS advice at https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 .
If you become unwell and are worried about looking after the person you
care for, please contact Plymouth City Council on 01752 668000.
All of our support groups are now running face to face but with some restrictions on numbers able to attend, depending on the space available at the venue.
All face to face training courses have been cancelled until further
notice. However, we are running some training virtually. Please
click here for further information and how to book a place.
If you would like to access online courses please visit https://carersdigital.org/login/index.php and
create an account using the free digital code DGTL1922
We are continuing to offer carers assessments and reviews. These will be
undertaken over the telephone and not be face to face until further notice.
Please do not hesitate to contact us on 01752 201890 with anything you require
support with. We will endeavour to keep you up to date with further important
news by email and on our website.
We are currently offering free
PPE for COVID-19 needs to unpaid carers who do not live with the person or
people they care for. This will be available until the end of March 2022 and
can be accessed by telephoning 01752 201890
This offer is available to cover
needs for PPE that have arisen due to COVID-19. If you would normally use PPE
because of the nature of the care you provide, you should continue to access it
through your normal routes.
If you live with the person or
people you care for, you do not need to wear PPE unless advised to do so by a
healthcare professional, like a GP or nurse.
